Day 2 (Saturday): 05.00AM Mahaica River  wildlife spotting
Duration:  5-6 hours. Return time: 11AM
Travel along Guyana’s coast from Georgetown to the riverine village
of De Hoop on the Mahaica River. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride up the
river, where you'll see the Canje Pheasant  (Guyana’s national bird)
(Hoatzin) and various other bird species—it's a birdwatcher's
paradise. You may also spot Red Howler monkeys, Capuchin
monkeys, river otters, and much more.

16.00 PM Sloth spotting 

Today we’ll start at 16 pm and we’ll be walking in the Cultuurtuin to spot the slow moving animals; the SLOTHS!

Please keep in mind we have to be patient and it’s not allowed to be very loud. We’ve great chance to spot the sloths, which live in the forest, but it’s never a 100% guarantee. It will be a nice 2 hour jungle walk to spot the sloths and learn more about them.

Day 5 (Monday): Commewijne Dolphin & Plantation Trip
with transfer from hotel to Leonsberg and after the trip,
from Nieuw Amsterdam to Boutique hotel Peperpot
From your hotel You’ll depart around 08.30AM to reach the meeting point, Leonsberg.
The first and most important rules are putting on the life jackets. Then we sail in a covered tent boat to the mouth of the Suriname river. Along the way we will spot dolphins in their natural
environment. It’s the brackish river dolphins (pink belly dolphins). This river dolphin is called “Profosu” in Suriname. It is a small gray dolphin with a usually pink and sometimes white belly. After seeing this we sail into the Commewijne River and visit the old Rust en Werk and Frederiksdorp plantations. Frederiksdorp is an old coffee plantation and to 1907 headquarter of
the District governance. Then remained the seat of a doctor and There was a police station located with a prison. Nowadays the historical heritage of Frederiksdorp consists of a police post with
seven houses, all of which are furnished as modern guest accommodation. The prison has been transformed into a restaurant and kitchen. On the plantation Frederiksdorp you can enjoy a lunch
(lunch is not included in the price). We end the tour with a visit to the Open Air Museum Nieuw Amsterdam. The former Fort New Amsterdam was built after the French invasion in defense of enemy incursions. In the 19-century the fort furnished as an open air museum. In this museum are historic buildings (such as Gunpowder houses), cannons, a light ship and an old sluice to visit.

18.30PM Peperpot Night Walking Tour
With your long pants, headlight and good walking shoes it is time to look for wildlife in the park for about 3 to 4 hours (in consultation). Prepare yourself for a special experience, in which you rely on your senses in search of beautiful encounters with animals. Snakes, frogs, sloths, owls, sleeping monkeys or maybe a tree porcupine or an anteater. In any case, you're going to see a lot. The ultimate goal is of of course a feline, but for this you have to be very lucky. After about 3 to 4 hours of walking, spotting, listening, taking pictures and especially learning, the evening tour in
the Peperpot Nature Park is over. Starts : 18.30pm at Peperpot | Ends : around 22.30pm
