The history of Frederiksdorp is reminiscent of both European and African traditions. Frederiksdorp is the center of the right bank of the Commewijne River.
The estate is 300 hectares with surrounding plantations, fishing villages, sea beaches, mangrove forests, wetlands, dolphins and long cycling and hiking trails.
