Early in the morning we will drive in approximately 2 – 2½ hours (130kilometers) on a partly asphalted and partly unpaved bauxite road to Brownsberg in an air-conditioned bus. Along the way you can enjoy the vegetation and you will be told about the savanna landscape and the authentic villages that are passed by. We make a stop at Paranam (the old Bauxite refinery) after about an hour driving. During this break you will be spoiled with delicious coffee or tea and a delicious snack. We immediately take the opportunity to give you some information about the bauxite happening in Suriname since the early 1900s. After another 1-1.5hours with the bus we'll arrive at the Plateau. Upon arrival at the plateau at the top of the mountain (± 500m), you can enjoy some fruit and a cooling drink. Experience the magnificent view that Brownsberg offers of, among other things, the Van Blommenstein Reservoir. After this, our experienced guide will take you on an interesting forest walk in the interior of Suriname to the idyllic waterfalls below. This tour is suitable for any day of the year. Activities done on such a tour include hikes to the waterfalls through jungle trails, wildlife watching, environmental information and bio-diversity. You have the option to take a shower under the falls. The Leo fall, Irene fall or Koemboe fall are the most visited places on the Brownsberg as well as the Mazaroni plateau for an excellent view of the tropical rainforest and reservoir. Many participants of our Brownsberg trip choose to seek a welcome refreshment by going under the falls. Then you will go uphill back to the Brownsberg plateau to enjoy a hot lunch. In the late afternoon you will leave for Ston Island, a peninsula on the reservoir, where we will spend the night in simple houses with beds and mosquito nets. In the evening we first have an evening meal and we can enjoy a beautiful starry sky.

You will wake up in the middle of nature to the roar of the howler monkeys, not to mention the chirping of the different bird species. Between 06:00 and 06:30 you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise. After breakfast you can fish, swim and/or relax. On your own you can kayak or canoe on the reservoir. After lunch we leave for Paramaribo where we will be back around 6 pm.
