In the morning you will be picked up at your lodging address and you will travel by bus to Atjoni, where you will step into a dugout canoe. After a beautiful boat trip through the jungle you arrive at the end of the afternoon at Kumalu Dream Island/Jungle Resort Pingpe along the river where we spend the night in simple houses. From Atjoni we use shuttle/shared boats on the first and last day of the tour

On the second day, after breakfast, you step into the canoe and leave civilization. During the 4-hour tour, nature becomes more and more spectacular. The canoe will occasionally be pulled through impressive rapids. Because few people live in this area, there is a high chance of spotting animals along the river. Along the way you will pass imposing rapids such as the Tapawatra falls and the Gran Dam rapid and make several stops. Lunch is served at the Maroon village Kajana. Arriving at the Sintia Dam, a jungle camp is set up with hammocks and mosquito nets. There are no further facilities. Your first evening and night in the jungle is an experience you will never forget. Also the bush meal, which the guide prepares in an authentic way, somehow tastes even better.

The third day you climb the Schildpad (turtle) mountain. If it is clear, you have a view over the entire jungle and you can see the mountain peaks of Kasikasima, Devilegg and Rosevelt Piek. Cock of the Rock are regularly seen along the way. These rare birds have a permanent place here and the guide knows where they are. The hike to the top takes approximately 2.5 hours. Towards the end of the day you will return to the camp at Sintia Dam. If the opportunity arises, a campfire will be made and there will probably be beautiful campfire stories while enjoying a drink.

On the 4th day we go for a walk in the forest with an explanation about flora and fauna. Lunch around 1pm and your own activity in the afternoon, such as swimming, fishing or relaxing. In the evenings with good weather we take an evening boat trip and hope to spot nocturnal animals.

On the fifth day we leave after breakfast for the villages where 2 to 3 villages are extensively visited. Afternoon lunch in one of the villages and continue to Kumalu/ Pingpe.

The last day we prepare and leave early around 7 with the boat back to Atjoni and on the way back visit the dam (Afobaka dam) where we will serve lunch and by the end of the afternoon you will be back in Paramaribo.
