Plantation Laarwijk Agro Experience

At 08:00 AM, we depart from Torarica Resort towards Domburg. Along the way, there will be a photo stop in front of the Staatsolie Refinery. Upon arrival at the Waterfront of Domburg, we will briefly get acquainted with the surroundings.
Next, we step into the local boat for a short and beautiful boat trip towards Plantation Laarwijk. Upon arrival, the exploration of Plantation Laarwijk begins. Accompanied by a local guide, you will walk past historical sites and agricultural fields. You will learn more about the history of the plantation and discover how the landscape and local way of life have changed over the years.
Get acquainted with traditional agriculture at Laarwijk and discover various local fruits, plants, and crops. The local guide will tell you more about the products, their uses, and how they are cultivated. During a short harvesting demonstration, you will get a practical insight into local agricultural life.
Contribute to a greener future during the Plant-a-Tree project. Afterwards, we continue further into nature for a relaxing walk. Along the way, you will learn more about the local flora and the natural surroundings of Laarwijk.
After the morning activities, it is time to enjoy a delicious traditional Surinamese lunch, prepared by a local resident of the plantation.
Free Time & Activities
After lunch, there is time to enjoy Laarwijk at your own pace. You can, among other things:
● Kayak
● Cycle around the plantation
● Traditional fishing with a bamboo fishing rod
● Relax in a hammock and enjoy the peace and nature surrounding the plantation
You can also enjoy freshly baked Surinamese snacks, prepared on-site and served warm together with a refreshing local drink.
Afterwards, we return by boat towards Domburg, taking with us beautiful memories of an authentic day at Plantation Laarwijk. From Domburg, we continue by car/bus back to our final destination, Torarica Resort.
